Babies to Walking

Responsive care, sensory exploration and early relationships

Approximately 6–18 months

The first years of life are a time of remarkable growth and discovery. Babies learn through their senses, movement and, most importantly, their relationships with familiar and responsive adults.

At Pinnacle, our infant program is built around each child's individual needs rather than a fixed timetable. Educators take the time to understand each baby's routines, interests and cues, creating a sense of security and familiarity throughout the day.

Learning experiences are thoughtfully selected to support what each child is ready to explore. Natural materials provide different textures to touch and investigate. Containers and objects encourage children to explore filling, emptying and cause and effect. Low platforms and safe climbing spaces support developing strength, balance and coordination as children become increasingly mobile.

Communication begins long before a child's first words. Through songs, rhymes, books and face-to-face conversations, educators introduce language, sounds and rhythm while building strong and responsive relationships.

Families are kept informed about their child's day, helping create continuity between home and the centre.
